These look great! I think they would look lovely blown up, framed and hung in a modernized room.

    Looks really nice!

Quite the artist. I love the colours and the negative space. The bank note is my favourite.

Nice, its more of an attempt at pop art. Less use of auto tracing programs and more manual tracing / drawing would give it more originality whilst making it a more genuine sample of pop art.

    Good first attempt.

thats not pop art, that’s vectors.. pop art is dead since the 70s.

  • http://www.patricksemaan.com/projektcyan Patrick Semaan

Pop art never died mate. Pop art is not limited to a type or tool, vector is just another type of illustration to make pop art, it evolved(and still does) to endorse different tools and methods as they are invented.

Anwar, I never said “shit” about your work, I actually said it’s good, but not original. That’s all. I am sorry if I burst your bubble but the reality is, your work is not original Pop Art – it’s an approach or attempt at creating Pop Art but it’s not the real thing. “Pop Art” is a type of art with a particular conceptual approach to it. If you want to create something in ten minutes and label it Pop Art, that’s fine, but expect to get criticism from people who know more about art. And just because you are trying to imitate Andy Warhol’s Cambell Soup cans with the Red Rooster and Farco chips tin again doesn’t make it Pop Art – it just makes it imitation. Again, all this is fine if you are experimenting with different styles and trying new tools, but understand that it is not original and people will criticise your work as such.

Now if you cannot take criticism, then why post your work in public? If you only want positive feedback, why let the public see it and have a go at it? If you can’t take criticism of any sort, then keep your artwork in your bedroom and show it only to family and friends, Anwar.

You are using the auto trace tool, so stop embarrassing yourself by saying no filters involved. I can see it, a lot of people saw it and it’s clear, you used auto trace and the built-in brushes of Adobe Illustrator. There are a lot of artists I know of genuine talents and other academic people who know the history of Pop Art and what it is and how it is made, if you like I can post your work on my blog and hear what real artists have to say about it… But oh boy I am telling you, you are not going to be happy with the feedback.

Again, for the 3rd time. There is nothing wrong with using tools such as auto trace, the only problem is, if you do so your work will not be original and cannot genuinely be called Pop Art. So be original and do it right if you want the positive feedback you are seeking. You said “it is not about how you do it” but it IS actually ALL about how you do it mate, it’s all about the technique and the tools that determine how original a work of “Pop Art” you get. And you also said “it’s about can you do something like that” – well yes, anyone can, in five minutes tops. That’s the point – that is what makes it unoriginal.

On another note, what does all that have to do with Ads2Blog? Shall we talk about other things that have nothing to do with this subject, like peanut butter? You’ve just exposed yourself to me, now I know who you are from the “people” of Ads2blog and can perfectly imagine the type of person you are, so thanks for the tip.

If you are going to bother me again with your nonsense private emailing (and giving me a wrong email address to reply to), I will take your work, put it on spaces with TRUE ARTISTS who know their stuff and let them give you a proper critique and then you can reply to them one by one and tell them to stop saying “shit” about your work.

FYI, I am not with C3, I work in London.

  • Anwar Ghader

bother u? U r the one who is bothering me!!! Ur following me from ablog 2 another blog, chill mr patrick..

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”

Some may like it and some won’t. Some people find scribbles interesting and some find an artistic piece as dull as a black dot in the middle of a canvas.

I personally think it’s nothing out of the ordinary.

You are the one who sent me a notice on my personal email asking me to stop commenting about your work and for that, I am saying stop bothering me with nonsense.

  • Zorbon

    “bla bla bla ..”???????????????

What are you…a 12 yr old?
    I don’t know anything about Art…
If I saw your “creations” somewhere, I would say wow..these are really cool…

But if as an artist, you really are expecting all people to be naive about art like myself, then you are the naive person.
