The New Green
I have been asked many times about the new Kawasaki ZX10-R, but all i could say was that Kawasaki USED to “Let the good times roll”….especially that they issued a technical recall on the ZX10-R a month after it the launch.
I did not get an invitation to the launch at Lossil in Qatar last Nov, so i haven’t ridden the green yet, and i can only quote whatever is circulating around the net and what the journalists that rode it has to say.
MCN did a group test last week between the ZX-10R, S1000RR, Honda Fireblade, Yamaha R1 and Suzuki GSX-R1000, and the above video should summarize it.
Good Morning
Anti-slosh foam
As we ride our bikes the fuel level decreases and the remaining fuel starts moving inside the tank with the movement of the bike, each bump, jump, corner, acceleration and deceleration, causes the fuel to move and that movement produces some forces and these forces are then transferred to the wall of the tank and transferred throughout the bike upsetting the center of gravity which negatively affects the bike handling.
The anti-slosh foam is a special sponge-like material that goes inside the fuel tank and only reduces the tanks volume by 2-3 percent, but helps suppress explosion, absorb impact energy and control fuel sloshing.
It can wheelie
Gulf Run 6
BuYousef a fellow photography blogger was in Bahrain for the GulfRun 6, he promised us some great shots but unfortunately the SD card with all the photos got corrupted and only a few photos were salvaged.
Hope you like them, and thanks BuYousef. Read more
Jap Art
Again Kawasaki keeps the good bikes for the Japan market and send us only the lousy ones, the ZRX1200 comes with 2 new color schemes this year..a Dark green with light green band, and a dark brown with light brown band.
Powering this classic a 4-stroke liquid-cooled, DOHC four-cylinder engine, with a total displacement of 1.164cc that pump 110HP at 8,000 rpm, and a 107Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, the bike weighs 246kg.
I would love to get my ass -or what’s left of it- on one of those for a Friday morning blast, but unfortunately this bike wont be going anywhere outside the Japanese market.
Stylmartin
I have been riding my motorcycle to work almost daily this season, and that requires wearing the riding gear which is usually not comfy -especially the boots- to be in for the 8+ hours around the office,
I’am currently wearing the Dainese Scarpa Sechura boots, which is very comfy and blends well with my Kevlar jeans and my leather jacket, but i needed another pair of riding boots that has all the safety a riding boot could offer, comfy, a bit metro sexual and could be worn to meetings with clients…so i did some googling and came across the Stylmartin brand, they offer 2 collections Performance and Leisure, the latter has a nice variety that suits my needs, but i need to google reviews before ordering any.
