BMW Motorcycles Club invites all members to the annual Ghabga event on Sunday 13th, 10.00pm, at Kuwait Hayat Hotel, the Ghabga is sponsored by: Dunkin Donuts, RPM Magazine, Dar Al Shifa Hospital, StarBucks, Huber Optic, TriStar Motorcycles, Boushehri Group.

“Members are kindly requested to come with their bikes, Club Shirts, and BMW Club card to participate in the draw on many nice prizes”

Non club members accompanying club members are also welcomed -i think-.

Every ramadan the guys at the office finds a way to release the stress resulting from the low caffeine and nicotine levels, last year we had a Ping Pong table at the meeting room.. this year the boss got a Baby foot table.

I was in Shuwaikh yesterday and noticed a new motorcycle showroom…i looked up to the sign and saw the following brands: Aprilia, PIAGGIO, Vespa, GILERA, and MOTO GUZZI !!!

Parked quickly.. went down to check it out and there it was…a part of Italy’s’ motorcycle history, a showroom full of Vespa scooters, Moto Guzzi, and Aprilia ..

The Vespas’ were irresistible…i don’t know how i resisted going back on one, Vespa is an icon and it doesn’t matter if you are a male or a female, young or old, a house wife or a businessman the Vespa will have your heart skip a beat…this scooter is one of the few bikes that have a style of its own and has maintained its classic and classy looks look over the years.. no visit to Italy is complete without renting a Vespa and riding it on the twisty roads of Sorrento. Two weeks ago -June 27 to be exact-, i changed my Zain line form postpaid to prepaid, i was told its gona take 10 minutes for the line to work but of-course it did not, called 107 to check and was told to just give it another 30 min…one hour later and the line is still not working called them again and this time a smart guy answer and he knew what the problem was… he opens a ticket and tells me it will take up 48 hours to work !!!

Called them yesterday -after 13 days- and they go we tried to speak to you but we couldn’t..i go: don’t call me just activate the line why do you want speak me about?

They said ok fine it will work in the next 24 hours…called them again today and reminded them of what they told me yesterday and they said we are working on it and it will get solved in less that 24 hours Inshalah!!!

Passed by TriStar showroom today to pick up some parts a ordered and was surprised to see the new Ducati Street Fighters…they had two bikes the standard one and the S version.

The seating position of this bike is unique…very up front, it’s very narrow and the size of the fuel tank is small which will constantly remind you of its light weight, ease of handling, and gives you confidant to do some stunt riding.

The S is already sold, they also have a pearl white 1198 which look really cool and sold of course.

A year+ ago i bought a Storz Performance steering damper kit for my Ducati SC, the damper performed very well and was worth the investment..lately the damper started acting funny and steering the bike became very difficult…so i called Storz Performance and explained the problem..they were very helpfull and explained to me what could be the problem then asked me to send the damper back to have it checked, a couple of days later i got a brand new one at no cost not even a shipping cost !!!

Even though i’am at the other side of the world and used the damper for more than a year, Storz Performance was happy to replace it…talk about costumer service.

Around the world in 120 days

Muhanad Al-Sultan, Husain Ashkanani,  Ali Al-Bairami, three Kuwaiti motorcyclists with a dream that finly came true , on their BMW R1200GS Adventure they will be going on a trip around the world in 120 days… visiting 17 countries starting today from Kuwait into Asia all the way to China, then to North America ending in New York and from there to Europe ending in Italy, then to parts of Northern Africa ending with Egypt and from there head back to Kuwait.

A fair well ride was held today and around 60 bikes accompanied the 3 travelers all the way to the border.. more photos Read more
