A dual crash for the Fiat Yamaha team

dovizioso

The headline should have read “Dovizioso first ever premier class victory” but i just couldn’t resist, after leading the race for a couple of rounds Lorenzo hit the asphalt and went out of the race, with 11 rounds to go Rossi crashed, but managed to ride the bike again and continue the race.

Stoner prediction for a rain fall was wrong and going with the wet tiers costed him the race.

The entertaining battle was between podium finishers Colin Edwards and Randy de Puniet, Monster Tech 3 Yamaha man Edwards took second from the LCR Honda rider on the final hairpin.

Master your wheelies

ATS

This is nice gadget and a good investment to protect your investment, the ATS or Anti Turnover System by Romanelli Technologies will prevent the wheelie from going beyond control, it only kicks in when the motorcycle’s front wheel rises beyond the safe limit, it interrupts the ignition bringing the wheel back down.

So if you ever wanted to wheelie your babe and afraid of crashing it then this is for you.

I was in Shuwaikh yesterday and noticed a new motorcycle showroom…i looked up to the sign and saw the following brands: Aprilia, PIAGGIO, Vespa, GILERA, and MOTO GUZZI !!!

Parked quickly.. went down to check it out and there it was…a part of Italy’s’ motorcycle history, a showroom full of Vespa scooters, Moto Guzzi, and Aprilia ..

The Vespas’ were irresistible…i don’t know how i resisted going back on one, Vespa is an icon and it doesn’t matter if you are a male or a female, young or old, a house wife or a businessman the Vespa will have your heart skip a beat…this scooter is one of the few bikes that have a style of its own and has maintained its classic and classy looks look over the years.. no visit to Italy is complete without renting a Vespa and riding it on the twisty roads of Sorrento. —click for more—

rossi.lorenzo

Sachsenring track is a very narrow track and its straits are very short, racers spend around 90% of the time with their knee down…any race on that track is really fun to watch.

Stoner was back in shape and led the race for a while, but the doctor had a couple of surprises for both Stoner and Lorenzo..for a while i thought Lorenzo would claim the podium but us usual the doctor is always there and ready to take advantage of the slightest miscalculation made by any of the racers.

Use your head

safety

“Use your head ” is the latest guerrilla marketing campaign from Ducati, a group of umbrella girls hit the streets of Milan coming into direct contact with bikers to promote safe riding, talk about safety and the responsible use of motorcycles.

I wonder what would happen if the traffic department here runs a similar campaign?

Cairo,

Make sure you stay at a 10 Stars hotel –Sofitel El Gezirah is good-, you don’t need to spend more than 2 days there…the morning of the first day you visit the pyramids and museum in the afternoon you find a good restaurant and have lunch -grilledfried sea food is your safest bet, then go back to the hotel for a siesta.

In the evening you could take a Nile tour -hotels have the best ones- at night around 1 am find a good night club to watch belly dancing because you didn’t visit Cairo if don’t do a belly dance night.. at 7am you leave the night club back to hotel have breakfast and sleep.

Night clubs: Samire Amis Intercontinental and a couple at Haram St.

Restaurants: Abu El Seed, and Nile City.

Coffee: On The Go at any gas station, Bottled Water: Nestle

Don’t ask taxi drivers or waiters for recommendations, only ask the concierge or do some googling. —click for more—

zain

Two weeks ago -June 27 to be exact-, i changed my Zain line form postpaid to prepaid, i was told its gona take 10 minutes for the line to work but of-course it did not, called 107 to check and was told to just give it another 30 min…one hour later and the line is still not working called them again and this time a smart guy answer and he knew what the problem was… he opens a ticket and tells me it will take up 48 hours to work !!!

Called them yesterday -after 13 days- and they go we tried to speak to you but we couldn’t..i go: don’t call me just activate the line why do you want speak me about?

They said ok fine it will work in the next 24 hours…called them again today and reminded them of what they told me yesterday and they said we are working on it and it will get solved in less that 24 hours Inshalah!!!

Saw this poster, and thought i should share it…i love the Boney M, back in the days they were “Z” band -yes am that old – i love their music danced to it and still do.

Egyptian movies were the only movies that played Boney M music at the time where the Boney M were way out of fashion…we used to make fun of the people who danced to their music is these movies.

Ironically the Boney M -or what is left of them- will perform is Sharm El Sheikh end of July thru mid August.

You can book tickets from here
