Finally some news on the 2013 motorcycle line from BMW, it looks like they are planing 2 new bikes for 2013.

The first is a naked version of the S1000RR with a half faring that looks like a copy of the Aprilia Tuono -which i hate-, and the other one is a Roadster or Cafe Racer style based on the Lo-Rider concept they presented back in 2008.

It’s Official -almost-

The news is now almost official, Audi has agreed to buy  Ducati for about 860 million euros ($1.12 billion) including debt. According to Reuters, sources very close to the negotiations have already confirmed the success of the negotiations – ongoing for the past several weeks – and one of them also stated that the liabilities of Ducati are well below 200 million euros. Analysts said that deal lacked obvious benefits for Audi and did little but polish VW chairman Ferdinand Piech reputation as a collector of rare and exotic brands !!

I guess it’s too early for analysts to predict the effect of the deal on the R&D, but lets hope they concentrate on the development of the core business and not only abuse the brand like the Americans did with brand extensions like Ducati wine, Ducati coffee, Ducati perfume and Ducati sanitary towels !!

Suzuki has officially confirmed that it won’t particpating in the MotoGP for the next two years. but they will be back in 2014 with a 1000cc motorcycle. In a press release Suzuki stated :

“ This suspension is to cope with tough circumstances mainly caused by the prolonged recession in developed countries, a historical depreciation of Japanese Yen and repeated natural disasters. Having an eye to returning to MotoGP in 2014, Suzuki will now focus on developing a competitive new racing machine for that class. Suzuki will continue motocross racing activity and support of road racing activities using mass-produced motorcycles, by obtaining FIM homologation and co-operation with the supplier of its development racing kit parts.”

The financial problems and natural disasters Japan has been facing took its toll on Suzuki and other Japanese manufacturers, there was no significant changes in GSX-R line for almost the past 2-3 years ! Where as the European manufacturers -BMW & Ducati- has been very active with the development of new bikes.

Its all verbal !

In order to get around high import duties and taxes,  Ducati well soon -Jan 2011- be shipping out the Ducs from their new Thai plant. Ducati confirmed that the new Thai factory is for the Asian markets, and they have no intention of decreasing their presence in Italy.

The question is, are we by any chance in Asia ?

Apple just launched the iPad, the device is just a bigger iPhone but without the phone, but with 3G connection that we can use to place VOIP calls, a lot of people my have been disappointed or was expecting something much more interesting than just a bigger iPodiPhone, but i was expecting this since the day i got addicted to my iPhone, the damn thing dosn’t leave my hand..it goes to all the places i go to especially the toilet in the morning, either to listen to music while showering or to check and answer emails while….

I can conduct around 70% of my office work communication using my iPhone but at so many occasions i wished it had a bigger screen, faster processor, better battery life, and the ability to save files and openplay different media formats, the same goes for my laptop i always wanted a faster, lighter 12 inch Mac with better battery life -am still using my 12″ PB G4-.

With the new iPad i believe i can do it all, and i very much belive its going to be the next and only businessentertainment gadget one will ever need…come to think of it at the office most of us use their computers for email, internet, and socializing, at home we use our laptops for the same plus watching movie, listing to music, and gaming, the iPad will do all that and maybe more, so i guess we’ll soon say goodbye to our laptops or we’ll just use them edit home movies.
