RR still the best

According to MCN the RR is the fastest and the best on and off the track, but i still think the RSV4 is the most beautiful bike.

I had my Optimate 3+ for over 2 years now, it got a lot of beating and water splashing i actually ran over a couple of times while parking the bike…it still function very well. I have been using it to maintain the bike batteries and the battery of an old car i have in the garage, although it takes a couple of days to fully charge the car battery but it does the job.

I usually park one of my bikes at the office and the rest at home, and after a couple let downs by the bike parked at the office i decided to get another battery maintainer and keep it at the office parking. I looked around locally for something small yet tough, one that is water resistant and can charge car batteries as well but i did not find any. So i decided to order one over the net, did some googling and finally ended up getting the Genius G3500. The G3500 is an 8 Step fully automatic charger, it charges 6V & 12V Wet, Gel, MF & AGM batteries. It’s almost the size of a Pepsi can, light, tough water resistant and very nicely packed. I also ordered extra connecters for all the bikes. Read more

Lion

I have been hesitant to upgrade to Lion fearing compatibility issues, but after reading some reviews and a lot of googling i finaly upgraded. While installing, Lion checks for incompatible softwares and place them in a special folder.. i had only one incompatible software which i don’t use, i even did not know i still have it.

The finder windows has a new look, the systems prefs got some nice upgrades especially the Trackpad pane which now has lots of new gestures, the Users & Groups pane and the Mail app got some new features as well. The new trackpad gestures makes you feel as if you are using completely new apps, most of the apps can now run in full screen, a great feature if you are using a Mac with a small screen.

What i did not like is the Launchpad feature, a feature Apple bragged a lot about. The feature displays all your apps including some of the installers and the uninstallers!! but unlike the i devices you can’t remove any of the apps form the Launchpad, and the only way to hide these apps is by grouping them in a folder !!

I have been using the system the whole day today, and am still discovering new features, which i believe will take some time to remember, getting used to and start using them.

I downloaded Lion using this torrent

Best Of Ramadan

The title might be misleading but am referring to TV commercials.

Every Ramdan most of the local banks and telecom companies air their new TVCs’ on local satellite TV channels, a trend that picked up around 7-8 years ago when watching satellite channels was the thing to do -for some reason- in Ramadan !

Now with all the smart phones, ipads, social media and other micro communication tools, does anyone watch TV anymore, you know like we used to in the old days ?  like a family spending the evening around TV watching a movie or a TV show form a satellite channel.

I think we still do but the numbers are very little and doesn’t justify the money spent for advertising on these channels, i believe the internet has morphed satellite TV and turned it into an entertainment tool for kids and the elderly…those who aren’t using the internet yet or have nothing better to do on their laptops, ipads or smart phones.

Personally i only watch the news from satellite channels like Jazeera, Arabia, BBC, and sports channels like ESPN and Eurosport, i also watch movies that i download. But whenever i feel like wasting time i watch satellite TV, i just keep flipping between channels until i feel dizzy and go to sleep.

What i wanted to say is that i have watched almost all of ramadan TV commercials form NBK, Zain, GulfBank etc. either on my laptop or on my iphone and believe it or not i haven’t seen any of them on TV yet.

If you would like to watch them visit Blog 37,i think he posted all of them :-* فُـله .

This is a video we shot last year, we had a demo Aprilla RSV4 Factory, a demo BMW S1000rr and a fully moded BMW E60 M5.
We were experimenting with the RR trying to find out what can it do, so we asked our friend on the RR to stop and only start accelerating when we – me on the RSV4 and my friend in the M5- pass by him at a speed of 100kmh.
Now the thing that we did not know that the RSV4 was on the “R” mood which stands for Road and only pumps out 140hp while the “R” mood on the RR is the race mode that unleashes all the 180 horses.
Enjoy

Sky Walking

I like Dainses products a lot, their designs are elegant and timeless,  i bought my Dainses Quito shoe 3 years ago and since then i hardly worn any of my other riding shoes, the Quito is very comfy and has all the protection that you need for normal street riding.

But after three years the Quito started to show some signs of wear, and its about time that i get a new one so i decided to get the Dainese Sechura, the Sechura is a warm weather touring boots, its stylish, has gear change guard, non-slip sole, ankle protection, and 3D Bubble air liner thats makes it better ventilated than the Quito, which used to make my feet sweat even when the weather is cold.

I have been wearing the Sechura for the past week and am very happy with it, it feels like you have an AC unit inside the shoe and with its SkyWalk sole you hardly feel your wearing a riding boots.

Trip review

“Video best watched in HD”

The trip took around a month from August 3rd to September 1st, we spent a week in Syria, around 2 weeks in Turkey and a week in Greece.

Being on the bike made us very popular wherever we go or stay, everyone wanted to talk to us and help -if we needed any-, we made a lot of friends and went to places where tourists can never go.

It was a bit tiring but it was worth it, and i would definitely do it again, but i would ship the bike to Syria and start from there to save myself the hassle of going thru KSA and Jordan.

I’ll be going on a little bike trip next week, and i needed a bag to carry my stuff so i got this BMW bag…its a 55 liter soft bag with a semi hard bottom.

Its water proof and can sit on the pillion seat or on the luggage rack and strapped to the bike chassis, it comes with 6 pairs of straps -different sizes-, sidetop pockets, light reflectors, and a shoulder strap.

In case you need to know, i easily stuffed it with 16 t-shirts, 3 jeans, 3 shorts, 2 swimming shorts, 10 underwear’s, 3 pairs of shoes, a Flip-flop, socks, laptop, camera, chargers, toiletries, and the travel documents in the transparent upper pocket.

I like the quality of and design of the bag that i also got the smaller one -30 Liters-. Read more
