Rossi interesting come back
The 2013 MotoGP opening round in Qatar yesterday was really fun to watch, i enjoyed all 3 races -Moto3, Moto2, MotoGP- I can’t really recall when was the last time i enjoyed the 3 categories. Rossi surprised us with his comeback, but we still need to see how will he perform against Lorenzo.
I’am guessing the coming races will be very interesting, the only issue is finding the time to watch all 3 categories.
May the wickedest man win !
Just a friendly reminder, the season opening is at 7pm on Sunday….so make sure you pee and stock up on snacks because its gona be a long evening 🙂
Good morning Doha
I left Kuwait yesterday morning and will be spending 3 days in Qatar for the MotoGP, arrived around noon, and spent the afternoon at the hotel lounge waiting for my friends who where driving from Kuwait…at 6pm we headed to the track collected our passes and literary ran just like little boys to watch the practice.
Its nice to be back on the stands and around the paddocks enjoying the engine noise and how the excitement builds up to the race day. Unlike last year the track had very few spectators, which is very good if you wana get some autographs or take some photos with the racers, but i believe it could get crowded tonight and tomorrow. I couldn’t tweet from the track yesterday because i lost my Qatari sim card, i should be getting a replacement today so expect a lot of tweets from @DailyFix this evening.
Kuwait’s first motorcycle racing team
Arab Riders racing team is Kuwait’s first motorcycle racing team, the guys has been riding motorcycles all their live…they actually don’t remeber when was the first time they rode a motorcycle but what they do remember is that back in 2008 they decided to take their hobby a bit more serious.
I have known Mohamad Al Hadad and Fahad Al Owaish – the 2 guys behind the Arab Riders – for a couple of years and over a cup of coffee we had a serious chat -for a change-, i asked them a couple of questions about the hobby and their recent participation at the Qatar International Road Racing Championship. Fast Stoner
Its nice to be home after spending the past 3 days at the track, i enjoyed the 8-10 hours i spent daily at the track..the action and excitement makes you lose track of time and only when you get back to the hotel you realize how damn tired you are.
The race was nice and Stoner was too fast for everyone, although at some point Pedrosa scored faster lap times but he couldn’t keep the pace. Either coming out of a curve or flying down the straight, the acceleration and the speed of Stoner was way faster than any other bike at the track and the real thing is way quicker than what one see on TV.
A nice battle between Rossi and Ben Spies took place for almost 4 laps at the same curve but Spies finally managed to overtake the Dr.
I believe the 2011 season is going to be great and we might witness a thrilling battles between the Repsol team teams just like Yamaha team mates battles back in 2009.
Next race is in Spain on April 3rd .
Shoulder lack strength
Last night qualifying battle was between the two Repsol Honda team mates Stoner and Pedrosa, but Stoner was faster and managed to beat Pedrosa…Lorenzo came 3rd.
The surprise was that Rossi came 9th and after qualifying Rossi said that his shoulder was fine now but lack enough strength to keep up the pace, on the technical side he also confirmed that they made some improvement to the bike and there is a lot to be made but its not possible at time being.
Tonight at 10pm the real race starts, and we believe its going to be very competitive.
Good Evening Losail
Am in Doha for the opening race of the 2011 MotoGP season, the race is on Sunday 10pm local time but i am here early to watch the free practice and the qualifying .
I arrived at the circuit a bit late yesterday but i was in time to watch the 3rd free practice and all i can tell you is that the Dr. is not very happy with the front end of his Ducati it was wobbling like a cheese cake
i also managed to have Lorenzo autograph my Moon helmet, i was also lucky to meet Dr. and he also autographed my corkscrew cap.
The 6iq Taqies ride Losail
A small clip of a warm up lap at Losail.
Losail is a very nice and fast track, its 5.380 km in length, 12 meters width, has 10 right corners and 6 left ones with a main straight of 1,068 meters, it also has a good safe area just incase you like running out wide like me.
In 2007, the track was equipped with lighting for night races and became the largest sport venue with permanent lighting in the world, but it recently lost the title to Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
The first night race in MotoGP history was the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar in March 2008.
You’re never too old !
A thrilling opener
What a start for the season, it was a really thrilling race yesterday at Losail…kept it us on our toes from lap one.
The Doctor claims the podium, but the star was Lorenzo…this dude is aggressive…he is the” No Guts…No Glory” type of guy.
