We were planing this trip of a while and were supposed to leave Kuwait back in July, but we had to postponed it hoping a couple of our friends will be able to join us, but unfortunately they couldn’t and we ended up only 2 -out of 4- me on my K1300R and my friend on his B-King

We left Kuwait Monday 9pm, reached Syria the next day around 5pm, we intended to stay only 2 days in Syria, rest the first day and ride around the next day.

We spent the first day at the pool, then went riding for around 5 hours between the villages in the mountains… we reached 950m elevation, we were literary over the clouds. Read more

Egypt Visit -the round up-

DSC02605

Cairo,

Make sure you stay at a 10 Stars hotel –Sofitel El Gezirah is good-, you don’t need to spend more than 2 days there…the morning of the first day you visit the pyramids and museum in the afternoon you find a good restaurant and have lunch -grilledfried sea food is your safest bet, then go back to the hotel for a siesta.

In the evening you could take a Nile tour -hotels have the best ones- at night around 1 am find a good night club to watch belly dancing because you didn’t visit Cairo if don’t do a belly dance night.. at 7am you leave the night club back to hotel have breakfast and sleep.

Night clubs: Samire Amis Intercontinental and a couple at Haram St.

Restaurants: Abu El Seed, and Nile City.

Coffee: On The Go at any gas station, Bottled Water: Nestle

Don’t ask taxi drivers or waiters for recommendations, only ask the concierge or do some googling. Read more

Just got a season greetings email form my friend Phil at PAK BIKES, its snowing heavily as you can see and he can’t even get to his shop.

Feast your eyes….and pray that global warming would change the weather here…..maybe in a couple of years the above scene would be a common one in Kuwait 😉

Happy New Year Phil.

My Aegean Journey

I start my journey and my mind is automatically transformed into a camera… Capturing memorable images and storing them under files of unforgettable memories.
The beach…As I walk along the stretches of gold, avoiding the marble-like pebbles, the warmth and dampness of the earth beneath me embraces my feet and I am immediately pulled into it’s magnificence… sinking deeper; leaving traces of my journey for the waves to wash away… While… Waves of images crash into my mind; permanent traces, even time can’t wash away.
The chain of mountains seem endless but not as vast as the ever-lasting blue they tower over. I cool myself in the sea and simultaneously bathe in the sun; coating myself in a gleaming crisp-bronze layer.

The air is so hot you can almost taste it: an authentic taste. I fill my lungs with the joy of my surroundings.
The sun melts the horizon as it sets and I reach the end of my exquisite journey.
