Ducati Profumo
Two years ago Ducati presented Desmorosso the Ducati wine, in 2006 Ducati designed the bottle of the Z ZEGNA perfume for Ermenegildo Zegna, and now Ducati launches its first male perfume.
Ducati presents its first male fragrance, masterfully formulated by renowned perfume producer Morris Profumi. Characterised with the main ingredients of ‘design’, ‘style’ and ‘excellence’ infused into the ‘mix’, the new Ducati-labelled fragrance is specially designed for those who are motorcyclists at heart, who love freedom and a life lived passionately without limits.
Ducati Fragrance for Men symbolises a motorcycling success story that has become legendary. As if encapsulating an expression of Ducati’s DNA within its first fragrance, the mix hints of the natural and technological and suggests a refined interpretation of modern masculinity and natural charisma. The bottle design, in typical Ducati style, is sophisticated and yet without ostentation.
From the creative genius of Thierry de Baschmakoff, founder of Aesthete, comes the symbol of Ducati’s essence. The modern style bottle with a compact form draws direct parallels to the stunning design with which Ducati motorcycles stand out from the rest. Refined, metal-like surfaces gleam and alternate with others brushed and opaque, while the cap, essential and asymmetric, blends both circle and ellipse as if tracing the dynamic movement of engine internals.
The fragrance itself has been formulated by the ‘nose’ of Symrise, Emilie Coppermann, blending the naturaland contrasting aspects of bergamot, grapefruit, juniper, fig leaf, nutmeg, vetiver, wood and musk, isolating the very best of the green, citrus and woody olfactory fragrances.
Man, his fragrance and his motorcycle in absolute harmony, enhancing the Ducati lifestyle to perfection. The line includes Eau de Toilette, aftershave and deodorant.
The new middleweight Monster
Its official, we have a new member in the Monster family, the 796 Monster….it has the same 803cc engine of the 2010 Hypermotard 796 and its called the Desmodue.
The Desmodue or the Desmo 2 in English is a completely brand new lightweight engine designed to provide the torquey, smooth and enjoyable character of the L-Twins.
I always thought that the 696 is under powered and the 1100 is overpowered, but now i believe Ducati got the recipe just right with the 796, the bike comes in 13 different color schemes and optional ABS.
Davide Tardozzi
After retiring from racing in the Superbike, Tardozzi went on to be a team manager for the Ducati factory racing team, winning several Superbike World Championships with Carl Fogarty, Troy Corser, and Troy Bayliss.Tardozzi won eight Riders’ Championships as a Ducati team manager, but at the end of 2009 Tardozzi left Ducati to join BMW and became the new team boss of the official BMW Motorrad squad in 2010(World Superbikes)

Nori is back
Haga shares Valencia with the Suzuki rider Leon Haslam, Biaggi was the fastest…he pushed the Aprila to its limit, but it seams it was not enough to win the race, and lost it to Haga in race two.

Hyperpro suspension upgrade kit
I never liked the suspension on my Ducati Sport Classic and always thought its just too stiff… am not saying its not good, its just not good enough. It doesn’t give enough feel of the road, and since upgrading to Öhlins was way too expensive i decided to only replace forks internals, and the rear spring with Hyperpro combo kit.
Hyperpro is a Dutch company and one of the leading producers of motorcycle progressive suspension products, they are mostly famous for steering dampers, but they also produce complete shocks, front fork springs and height adjustment kits for alot of bikes. Progressive springs reduces the braking distance by 15 to 20 percent in comparison to a bike with linear springs, small bumps and irregularities in the road surface get absorbed immediately while large bumps or holes are intercepted by the more rigide part of the spring, this results in a bike that is faster on the circuit and safer on the highway.
It took almost 2 month for the kit to reach my Aramex box, and when it finally did Aramex refused shipping it because it had a bottle of suspension oil they also refused to trash the oil and ship only the springs, the only solution was to send the kit back to the supplier and ask him to ship it back without the oil.
Anyway the kit in now mounted on the bike, and it was worth the wait.. the bike feels like a totally different bike, the feedback from the suspension is so damn good.
I have always believed that one doesn’t need Öhlins suspension on the bike unless one is doing track days, but after this upgrade i guess i was wrong.
Hypermotard 796
The 796 Hypermotard is almost a clone of the its big brother the 1100, but KG5 lighter… the nice thing about the 800cc engine is that it revs a bit more than the 1100cc, and the power is easier to control while trick riding.
Both the 796 and 1100 are available at TriStar.

The Frameless Motorcycle
Ducati applied for the patent for a frameless motorcycle, the motorcycle front and back end will be bolted directly onto the engine !!!
This is what Ducati says about the new concept:
“A motorcycle comprising a propelling group or engine, a saddle support, a support for the rear wheel, and a front directional group comprising a handlebar integral to a steering headstock functionally associated to a supporting organ of the vehicle front wheel, wherein such front group is connected to a box-like body incorporating the function of filtering box, constrained to the engine and apt to support the latter by connecting it, therethrough, to said front directional group, said support for the rear wheel and said saddle support being constrained to the engine, the vehicle being not equipped with additional members apt to constrain said engine to such front directional group.”
I guess soon we’ll be sitting on engine heads…mmm, i wonder what are the side effects on male fertility.
Ducati returns to the TT
Michael Rutter and his British Superbike Championship team Riders Motorcycles will be racing a 1098R Ducati at the 2010 Isle of Man TT, Ducati is one of the great names in the TT, but haven’t participated since 2003….it will be very exciting to see them race again.
BMW is also returning and KTM will participate for the first time ever.
