This is a video we shot last year, we had a demo Aprilla RSV4 Factory, a demo BMW S1000rr and a fully moded BMW E60 M5.
We were experimenting with the RR trying to find out what can it do, so we asked our friend on the RR to stop and only start accelerating when we – me on the RSV4 and my friend in the M5- pass by him at a speed of 100kmh.
Now the thing that we did not know that the RSV4 was on the “R” mood which stands for Road and only pumps out 140hp while the “R” mood on the RR is the race mode that unleashes all the 180 horses.
Enjoy

Kuwait Rally day 2

The final day was a heavy rain day but Nasser Al-Attiyah on his Autotek Ford Fiesta S2000 managed to win 11 of the 12 special stages in this 2 day race, thus claiming the Kuwait Rally and securing his fourth rally victory of the season and his 40th career win.

Frankly speaking there was no match for his driving skills or speed, the only driver that came a little bit closer was Al-Qassimi.
Finally i would like to thank Zain for giving us the chance to be so close to the action, and hope the next invitation would be a paddock pass for next week opening round of the 2011 MotoGP in Qatar ;-).

Kuwait Rally Day 1

It started with me waking up at 7am -it wasn’t easy i can tell you that- !

I headed to Costa Coffee Bidaa where i was supposed to meet up with the guys, where i ended having 2 coffees and a breakfast waiting for them to wake up and when they finally showed up they wanted to have coffee !! anyway we finally took off and after around 30min of driving we were in the middle of the action.

We found a good spot at an end of a straight were the races came flat out and took a left turn almost flat out and when i say flat out i mean a speed of +200km, we were so close to the cars that at one point when Nasser Al-Attiyah passed by we were like “thats it we’re dead” we got to meet and talk to him. Nasser Al-Attiyah is the champion of rally Dakar 2011.

You can check the results here and enjoy the video here.

Got an email from Zain asking me if i would like attend the 2nd round of the 2011 FIA Middle East Championship, although we believe cars are boring -not all cars- we couldn’t resist such an event, so in the coming 2 days we’ll be roaming around as media representatives’ and chasing the rally from one stage to the other and hope to witness and shot some action.

The ceremonial start will take place at the parking area next to the Holiday In Salmiya today at 6pm, but the race start is tomorrow.

Carlos Checa on the Althea Racing Ducati  sealed a double win at Phillip Island yesterday, no one was able to come close to Checa and he finished a couple of seconds ahead of Biaggi, it was a fast race and racers were like being shot of slingshot going in and out of the curves.

Haslem on the BMW finished third on race 1, a result that promises a good season for BMW.

Anti-slosh foam

As we ride our bikes the fuel level decreases and the remaining fuel starts moving inside the tank with the movement of the bike, each bump, jump, corner, acceleration and deceleration, causes the fuel to move and that movement produces some forces and these forces are then transferred to the wall of the tank and transferred throughout the bike upsetting the center of gravity which negatively affects the bike handling.
The anti-slosh foam is a special sponge-like material that goes inside the fuel tank and only reduces the tanks volume by 2-3 percent, but helps suppress explosion, absorb impact energy and control fuel sloshing.
